CAREGIVER TRAINING PROGRAMME - NVQ LEVEL - 3 FOR BEGINNERS.
CAREGIVER TRAINING PROGRAMME - NVQ LEVEL - 4 FOR NVQ LEVEL 3 COMPLETED STUDENTS.

The Sri Lanka Red Cross caregiver training programme is targeted at home-level Nursing Assistants who take care of elderly, ill, and disabled persons. This course will educate trainees to build healthy professional relationships with their clients in a comfortable living environment. The successful trainees are qualified for the NVQ level 4 certificate which is given by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka, NVQ is an internationally recognized qualification that will help the trainees to get employment overseas. This is an advanced six-month course including three months of workplace training that helps candidates to assist clients in related to aging, diseases, and disabilities. The caregiver programme offered by Sri Lanka Red Cross is for dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic individuals who are seeking to start a caregiver journey and are interested in starting a career in the national or international healthcare sector. Furthermore, by completing the course at the Sri Lanka Red Cross as a caregiver you will be qualified to address clients and get a clear knowledge of job duties and responsibilities. In the completion of this training program, the candidate will become a skilled caregiver with formal training. COURSE OBJECTIVES
• To educate the trainees to communicate and attend domestic affairs of the clients
• To educate to address the basic needs and nutrition of a sick, elderly, or a disabled person
• To educate trainees to Maintain personal hygiene and the appearance of the clients.
• To educate the trainee about drug treatments and to understand the vital signs of the client.
• To educate in handling, clients with special needs.

COURSE DURATION
Full-time programme: 1 month Training (NVQ LEVEL - 3 FOR BEGINNERS)
Full-time programme: 7 months Training (FOR NVQ LEVEL - 3 COMPLETED STUDENTS - Theory and practical: 1 month of online classes on weekdays in the evening and physical classes, likely conducted on weekends On-the-job training: 6 months

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
• Age = 18-50 is preferred.
• Successful at G.C.E. (O/L) with a pass in English language.
